Our story
The family & the farm
The Antique Rose Farm began in 1994, when Don and Jackie McElhose started growing old roses on their historic Snohomish Valley dairy farm — the farmhouse dating to 1906, the barn to 1937. Jackie had loved antique roses since childhood, a passion inherited from her mother and grandmothers, who all grew them.

"We love roses," Jackie once said. "I got interested in the old roses because we had the old farm. Then look what happened — it exploded." A personal hobby grew into a specialty nursery of hundreds of varieties, with a historic barn full of antiques and a fertilizer blend formulated for roses.
Today the farm is run by Jackie's son Jeff and his wife Debbie, with Jackie — now in her eighties — still involved. Three generations of the family keep it going, and it is still growing. "We might have the most roses in the Northwest," Jeff says. "Most places don't specialize in roses."
